Dear Governor McCrory,

I understand that you are having some problems these days making choices yourself! Believe, me, I know how you feel! You made campaign promises indicating that you would not sign any legislation that limited access to women's health care (including abortions). But that sneaky legislature is trying to pull one over on you. You caught on that the bill against sharia law in NC shouldn't have abortion rights tacked on to it (though I didn't know NC was in danger of being governed by sharia law anyway). Now, they are trying to connect motorcycle safety - which I think most people would be in favor of - to abortion safety. I'm glad you are a man, since you can probably understand how they are connected better than I can, but golly, what choice are you going to make if that bill reaches your desk?

Since I'm not in danger of needing an abortion due to my advanced age, I have some more pressing things to consider. Once again, my husband left for work before he could advise me on these things. He was here when I put a load of laundry in the washer, but I need to leave soon to meet my parents for lunch so I don't know whether to put the clothes in the dryer and have the dryer run while I'm gone, or let the clothes sit in the washer till I get back? I could call my dad or my uncle and ask about this, but they are both hard of hearing so it's hard to talk to them on the phone. Any advice you can give me in the next thirty minutes would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Nancy

Good Morning Governor!

It is a rainy day here in the Piedmont. Not a good day for running errands if you have a motorcycle. By the way, I have been reading the news and understand that there is a bill regarding motorcycles and abortion. That is very interesting! I know that I am just a woman, but I'm having trouble figuring out what these two have in common. I mean, it's quite easy to get pregnant in a car and need an abortion, but I'm having a hard time picturing how this would happen on a motorcycle.

Well, I have a lot to do today so I'll close. Thank you for reading my emails. I know you are busy down there in Raleigh trying to get the legislature to listen to you. Believe me, I know how you feel!

Sincerely,
Debbie Leonard
